How to Get Clean Lines with A Plastic Stencil

In this tutorial we are showing you how to get clean lines with a plastic stencil.

If you have been disappointed with stencilling before because you find that the paint leaks through the stencil leaving you with messy lines - then this video is for you!

For this project you will need:
- Piece you are stencilling
- Stencil
- Sponge Dabber or a Regular Kitchen Sponge
- Clear Coat, Topcoat, Polyurethane
- Paint
- Painters tape

**If you are using a regular Kitchen Sponge, ensure you do not over load the sponge with paint. Consider using a dry side of the sponge to lightly go over your painted areas to ensure there isn't too much paint left behind.

How to Apply Oil Based Wood Conditioner & Stain

In this tutorial we are showing you how to apply oil based wood conditioner to a prepped (sanded) piece of wood. How to condition your wood with mineral spirits. We will also show you the difference between applying (oil based) stain with a foam brush vs a shop towel.

**IMPORTANT: When using oil based products, you need to safely dispose of the used shop towels/brushes. Oil based products give off heat as they dry which can result in fires. To safely dispose of the items, allow them to sit spaced out from each other in a shaded/cool area until fully dry. Do not throw them into the trash until they are completely dry. If it is too hot in your area to leave them outside, you can place them into an old paint can fully submerged with cold water and hammer the lid shut.

What you will need:

How to Prep Wood without Power Tools!

In this tutorial, we are showing you how to prepare wood for staining without power tools.

If you have an electric sander at home, you can follow these same steps (using the same grits shown in the tutorial).

You don’t need fancy tools to prep your wood! You can still achieve a nice finish by hand sanding your pieces.

If the wood has extensive damage or was previously refinished in a thick topcoat, you may want to consider using an electric sander and starting off with an 80 grit sandpaper and moving on to 100, 120, 220.

What you will need:
120 & 150 grit sanding sheets
220 Contour Sanding Sponge
