Umbrella Bouquet

Do you have an an umbrella that is practically broken but you just don’t have the heart to throw it away yet? What about an old pair of rubber boots, a purse, a big fun hat, or a watering can? 

This home decor idea goes works great to help get that Spring cleaning vibe started around your home while providing you with some beautiful handmade decor!

For this project you will need:

  • Vessel: Umbrella, hat, purse, watering can, etc
  • Flowers
  • Decorations, twigs, leaves, pampas grass 

Try to keep the size of this project portable so that you can place it in your designated area without overwhelming the space. 

If you are using an umbrella:

Begin by taking your closed umbrella with its handle facing up.

Take a piece of ribbon and wrap it around the middle of the umbrella and tie it, creating a bow.  Fill the ribs(inside) of the umbrella with fresh or faux flowers, pine cones, leaves, branches, pampas grass or easter decor! If you are using fresh flowers, you can place the flower stems into water vials or small containers with floral powder. You can hang this decoration on the front of your door, on a plant hanger, or lean it up against your porch! 

If you are using a boot, hat, purse or watering can, other:

Begin by taking your vessel and placing your flowers inside. 

For this project you can use fresh flowers, potted plants/flowers or faux flowers.

If you are using fresh flowers, you may want to consider placing the flower stems into small containers with floral powder. For potted plants/flowers you want to ensure the pot will fit into your vessel. If you are using faux flowers, you can consider using old styrofoam or floral foam in the bottom of your vessel to ensure more stability with your flower placement. 

Once you have decided on which flowers you will be using, now you can have some fun and start decorating your Bouquet with pinecones, branches, leaves & whatever else your heart desires! 

The great thing about these decorations is that they look amazing inside & out!
